EVELINE TAINIO | ACTOR
About eveline tainio
I have always been drawn to creating something beautiful and memorable, first on the ice, now on screen and stage. Born and raised in Helsinki, Finland, I spent years developing precision, resilience, and trust as a synchronized skater on the Finnish national team, competing all over the world.
Skating taught me skills that now shape my work as an actor. Performing under pressure, embodying emotion physically, and connecting with an audience without words gave me an intuitive grasp of presence, timing, and discipline.
That same drive eventually took me to New York City, where I trained at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and was invited to join the Academy Company, a selective ensemble focused on contemporary and classical theatre.
Today, career spans Nordic and U.S. productions. I currently play Jenna Haarla as a series regular on Salatut elämät, Finland’s longest-running daily drama.
I'm fluent in Finnish and English, and have trained extensively in RP British, Scandinavian, and other European accents. With training in stage combat, boxing, singing, and dance, and now beginning to explore stunt work as well, I’m especially drawn to roles that let me use physicality, movement, and voice as part of the storytelling.
Outside of work, I’m happiest at my cottage, in a sauna, or around a table with people I love. I’m a big fan of cold plunges and really good food, both things I learned to love from my parents and make time for whenever I can.
When I’m not on set or prepping for my next role, I’m probably traveling - 42 countries and counting, with Costa Rica next on my list. If you ever bump into me in New York, you’ll probably find me walking much farther than necessary with a matcha in hand. Fun fact: I hate coffee.
Having worked across Nordic and U.S. productions, I’m excited to keep building a career internationally. I’m especially drawn to complex, multidimensional women-
the ones with contradictions, surprises, and something beneath the surface that stays with you long after the credits roll.
